All of our advisers have prior experience as admissions or corporate interviewers and all interviewers understand that the worst thing any candidate can do is become a rambler. During interviews, the simple concept of less is more is best. The most typical interview questions for MBA candidates are:
While the above questions are the most common, they should also be the easiest to answer. All schools have unique questions that are specific to their curriculum; however, all of your answers should be derived from your goals, ambitions, and prior work experience. We help candidates develop talking points, clearly articulate relevant work experience, and push candidates to create solid responses to various questions through practice mock interviews. Our clients leave interviews feeling confident about their performance because of the preparation and structure we provide. Ultimately, interviews are about presence and professionalism and we help our clients excel at both. MBA Catalyst also believes that personal interviews are especially important for candidates with low GPA’s or low GMAT scores. The personal interview provides an opportunity to show why those two items do not define the applicant. Low grades and test scores become a hindrance if candidates are not able to sell their strengths in a manner which overshadows the weaker aspects of their application. At MBA Catalyst, we place the highest emphasis on essay composition and interview preparation because those are two aspects of the application under the candidate’s control and are the best mechanisms to describe the candidate’s abilities.
